What the FSRT/OCT is

A fire loss isn’t finished until the smell is gone.

On a real fire job, cleaning and deodorization are the same project — you restore the structure and contents, then you have to get the smoke smell out for good. The combo week certifies your tech in both, back-to-back: Fire & Smoke Restoration, then Odor Control.

Students work through smoke and residue types, structural and contents cleaning, and restore-vs-replace decisions — then move straight into the principles of deodorization and the full odor toolkit. Two IICRC exams, two credentials, the complete fire-loss skill set in a single trip.

Why take it

Why your team takes the combo week

Certification isn’t a wall decoration. Here’s what the credential actually changes for your techs and your business.

One trip, not two

Fire and odor work go together on the job — so learn them together, with a single travel cost and one stretch off the schedule.

Cleaning and deodorization in sequence

Deodorization makes more sense once you understand the residues. Taking FSRT first means OCT builds on fresh knowledge.

Take the whole fire job

Certified to clean the loss and neutralize the odor, your crew can own a fire claim end to end instead of subbing out the smell.

Two credentials, faster

Your tech leaves the week with the complete fire-loss skill set — and two IICRC certifications to prove it.

The outcome

What you'll walk out with

One week in, your tech can clean a fire loss and neutralize the odor it leaves — with two certs to prove it.

Read the fire loss

FSRT: wet, dry, protein and synthetic residues

Clean the right way

FSRT: structural and contents cleaning sequences

Match the odor method

OCT: thermal fog, hydroxyl, ozone and sealing

Close out restore-vs-replace

Document a fire job from cleaning to clean air

The instructors are the difference.

Working instructors

Every RTI instructor is an active tech, supervisor or estimator — so the answer to “what actually happens on site?” comes from this week’s jobs, not a textbook.

A live flood house

Our training environment gets soaked, mapped, dried and reset every week. Students place real equipment under a real job clock before they ever touch a customer’s floor.

Is this one continuous class?

Yes. The combo week runs straight through — three days of FSRT, then two days of OCT — with two separate IICRC exams. Your tech leaves holding both certifications. The two exam fees ($80 each, paid to the IICRC) are not included in tuition.

Do I need a prior certification?

No. Neither the FSRT nor the OCT has a prerequisite, so the combo week is open to any technician ready to take on fire and odor work.

Is it cheaper than taking the two classes separately?

The combo week is priced below the two classes booked separately and saves a second trip. Ask student services for current combo pricing.

What should I bring?

Work clothes and closed-toe shoes. All PPE, cleaning materials, deodorization equipment and course materials are provided.

The Lever360 Platform

Three levers. Pull all three and the whole company moves.

Lever360 is three products built around the same restoration job. Software runs the operation. Learning Lever trains the team. RTI certifies the trade. Use one. Use all three — they compound.

Software is one lever

You're running the company here. The other two make it compound.

Software runs the operation — every job, crew, dollar and conversation lives here. Add Learning Lever and RTI and the same techs ramp faster, bill higher, and stay longer. One lever moves the company. Three move it harder.

Learning Lever is one lever

You're training the team here. The other two make the training stick.

Learning Lever onboards faster and keeps the whole team sharp. Software is where that training shows up in the work. RTI is where it becomes a credential customers trust. Pull one — pull all three and the math compounds.

RTI is one lever

You're certifying the trade here. The other two carry the credential to the field.

RTI certifies the trade — IICRC WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT and beyond. Software runs the company those certified techs work for. Learning Lever ramps everyone in between. One lever moves things. Three move the whole crew.

Bundled Pricing

Customers who run Software + Learning Lever together save 22% and onboard techs 3× faster.
